William Lawrence Harkins Jr.

William Lawrence Harkins Jr., age 61, known to many as “Captain Dub,” of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 9, 2026, surrounded by the people he loved most. 

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandy Harkins; his children Lance Harkins, Derek Harkins (Jamie Harkins), and Brandi Harkins; his sister Mona Harkins; his mother, Martha Harkins; and 13 beloved grandchildren, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Lawrence Harkins Sr.; his sister, Rudean Davey; and his son, Brandon Hawk.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026, 11:00a at Lakeside Funeral Home Chapel, 121 Claremore Dr Woodstock, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening, March 11, 2026 from 5:00p until 8:00p then again Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 10:00a until the time of service.
