In Loving Memory of Steve Wise
Stephen Walton Wise, age 62, of Roswell, Georgia went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 16, 2025.
The eldest child of Walton Eugene and Georgianna Helen Wise, Steve was born on April 8, 1963 at Clark Air Base in Luzon, Philippines and spent the majority of his childhood in Benbrook, Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington, earning a degree in Finance. He would be the first to tell you he would go on to pass the CPA exam on his first try, one of his proudest achievements. Steve spent his entire career in banking, working for the Federal Reserve Bank, first in Dallas then Atlanta, for 37 years. Steve met his wife, Matilda (Tutu), through mutual friends in Dallas, Texas. They would later marry two years after their first date at Stan’s Blue Note, a fixture of their Lower Greenville neighborhood. They spent their first year of marriage in Dallas before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to Tutu’s family and friends, where they would welcome (at the same time) their three children: Jack, Caroline, and Andrew.
Beyond his career, Steve was an avid backpacker and fly fisherman. His fondest memories were spent out west, singing along to John Denver and spending long days on the river. Steve was an adoring father, a constant fixture at Jack, Caroline and Andrew’s extracurricular activities. His deep faith in the Lord was the foundation for his life and the example he set for his family. A gifted storyteller, Steve will be remembered for filling every room with laughter and warmth. His friends and family knew his favorite stories by heart, the product of his proclivity to retell the same handful of accounts.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Tutu, his sister Christy (Rose), and his three children Jack (Ashley), Caroline, and Andrew (Irma). Steve leaves behind dear friends and his loyal puppies - Poppins and Ollie.
A celebration of life service will be held in the chapel at Northside Church, 11125 Houze Road, Roswell, GA 30076 on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM, followed by a reception. Friends are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you prayerfully consider giving to ministries that were close to Steve’s heart: Help The Persecuted, Northside Church Roswell
