In Loving Memory of Robert Tommy Dorsey Jr.
Robert Dorsey, a devoted husband, father and friend, passed away on March 26, 2025. Born in Tate, Georgia, he lived a life filled with love, hard work, and cherished moments with family and friends.
He was happiest surrounded by those he loved, whether spending time with family, making memories on beach trips, or biking the scenic paths of St. Simon’s Island. A lifelong Georgia Bulldogs fan, he never missed a chance to cheer on his team. His warmth, humor, and kindness made him the favorite uncle—always ready with a joke, a helping hand, or a wise word of advice.
Robert dedicated many years to his work at Lockheed Martin, where he took great pride in his craft and built lifelong friendships. Known for his ability to fix anything, he was the one everyone turned to when something needed repairing—whether it was a broken appliance or a bad day. And when it came to coffee, no one brewed a better cup.
He leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter and memories that will be forever treasured. His family and friends will miss him dearly but will carry the love and kindness he shared with them always.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, April 8th at 11am at Woodstock City Church,150 Ridgewalk Pkwy, Woodstock, GA 30188. The family would love for you to join them afterwards for lunch following service.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor his memory in the ways he loved—by enjoying a cup of coffee, taking a bike ride, or simply spending time with the people who mean the most to you.
Rest in peace, Robert. We know you are in heaven with our Savior, Jesus. Your love and light will never fade.
