Paulette Jacqueline Greene, age 93, of Macon, GA, passed away on July 30, 2021. She was born on February 15, 1928 to Joseph and Marie Loir in Equeurdreville, France.
Paulette worked with the American railroad during WWII. After surviving the D-Day Allied invasion to her hometown of Cherbourg on the Normandy coast, she married soldier Louis Freitas and came to live in Boston, Massachusetts and later in Newark, New Jersey. She became a naturalized citizen in 1979. Even though she was separated from her siblings by distance, she maintained close relationships visiting by phone weekly, making several trips back to France and hosting their families on visits to the states. After her retirement from Chevrolet, she moved to Macon, GA to be near her sister, Gilberte, her nephews and their family.
Paulette is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Walter Greene, her siblings, Georges Loir, Gilberte Asbell, Colette Loir and her sons, Ronnie and Danny Freitas. She is survived by her sisters still residing in France Jeannine, Gisele, Nicole, Huguette, Claudine and many nieces and nephews.
