Melody Selena 'Cook' Bowers

Melody Selena "Cook" Bowers 50, of Cranberry, NC went home to be with our Lord and Savior on August 15, 2018 at Johnson City Medical Center, following an extensive health issue.

Melody was the daughter of James Robert Cook Sr. and Juanita Hughes Wise of Elk Park, NC. Melody has left to cherish her memory, her only daughter; Leanne Cole, husband Jonathan Cole, and three wonderful grandsons: Kingston, Grayson, and Hamilton Cole of Elk Park, NC. She also left to cherish her beloved baby sister, Layla Jones and husband Gerald Jones of Johnson City, TN.

Melody was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Meloney Sabrina 'Cook' Bowers, and two brothers, James Robert Cook Jr, and Jeremy Shawn Cook. Maternal grandparents, Calvin and Deckie Hughes and paternal grandparents Jim and Bonnie Whitehead.

Melody leaves behind 10 Nephews and Nieces, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. A special thanks to all of the friends and staff at the Cranberry House in Cranberry, NC.

The viewing will be Friday, August 17 from 4p to 6p with the funeral service to follow thereafter, officiated by Reverend Ted Henry at Banner Elk United Methodist Church, 486 College Dr., SW Banner Elk, NC 28604.

Melody's final wishes to be cremated and laid to rest with her identical twin sister in the Bowers Cemetery located in Minneapolis, NC will be honored. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Leanne and Jonathan Cole, 223 Reservoir Hill, Elk Park, NC 28622. Donations will be put towards final expenses and a foot stone.
