Mr. Lyman Earl Smith, age 91 passed away on August 29, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Woodstock, GA. Lyman was born on June 18, 1928 in Point Place, Toledo, OH to Glen and Edna (Plummer) Smith. Lyman was born at home, in the small bungalow his father built.
Lyman graduated from Crestline High School, Crestline, OH in 1946. He attended Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, OH and attended Drew University in Massachusetts, where he trained for the Christian ministry. Lyman served in several churches in Iowa and Ohio from 1954-1985. He also loved carpentry, which he learned from his father. And through the years, he also worked in the building trades.
In 1951, Lyman married his high school sweetheart, Gladys (Miller) Smith and they had 2 daughters, Colette and Valerie.
Lyman was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, in 2007, his sister, Virginia Hagans 2019 and their parents, Glen and Edna Smith. He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Colette and Paul Nichelson of Canton, GA. and Valerie and Eddie Pasko of Austinburg, OH. Brother-in-law, Lynn Miller (Emilie) of Los Angeles, CA. Grand-daughters, Melissa Crouse of Geneva, OH and Shannon Ray of Brooklyn, OH. Great-grand-daughter, Kylee Clark of Brooklyn, OH and three great-grandsons, Gabriel, Jeremiah and Jacob Heniger all of Geneva, OH. And several nieces and nephews and extended family in Georgia and Ohio.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date in Ohio.
