Leeadice Remona Holder

The heavens became a lot brighter.  Leeadice R. Holder, aged 87, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Friday June 3, 2022. She passed peacefully in her sleep at her home.   She was born August 22, 1934 in Postelle, TN.  She moved to Georgia in the 1960s.  Aunt Addie, as she was lovingly known by all her family, was one of a rare kind.  From her name, Leeadice Remona, to her own unique personality, she brought joy to all who were blessed enough to know her. It was said to me recently by her great niece, Jacqueline, that “we were living in Addie’s world.”  Never were their truer words spoken. I’m glad we were able to live in her world for as long as we were allowed. To my brother, sister, and I – (Doug, Phyllis, and Alice) she was a second Mama to all of us and our kids were her Grandkids – Jacqueline, Coleman, Nicholas, Lexi, Mason, Sheridan, Brantley, and Colt.   I’m humbled to have known her and to have had her help me raise my own children.

Aunt Addie retired from Lathem Time Co where she had worked for many years. She is survived by her brother, Mitchell Holder, sister-in-law, Barbara Holder both from Tennessee, brother-in-law, Frank Owenby and numerous nieces, grandnieces, nephews, grand nephews, etc. She comes from a very large and loving family comprised of 9 other brothers and sisters. She was generous, kind, and loving.  Aunt Addie would tell you like it is whether you wanted to hear it or not, but I’ll tell you, if she was saying it you needed to hear it. Her wisdom is already sorely missed by us.  She was a great lover of music, comedy, and reading.  We have fond memories of listening to Elvis and watching movies like Herbie the Love Bug with her.  She would sit for hours reading her books.  Hold your loved one’s tight tonight. God promises no one another day. We will all see her again one day and it will be glorious.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 at Lakeside Funeral Home, 121 Claremore Dr, Woodstock, GA 30188. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 7:00pm followed by Chapel services from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Her burial will follow the next day, Saturday June 11, 2022 at 11:00am at Mt Zion Baptist Church in Postelle, TN.

Flowers are welcome, but in lieu of flowers a donation made in her name to a charity of your choice would be beautiful.
