John David Parks

John D. Parks was born on August 2,1947 in Urbana, IL and peacefully passed away early in the morning of October 8, 2025.

JD, as he was known to his friends and family, was a loving man that always had a smile on his face and was quick to make everyone around him laugh. He had a profound impact on everyone that he interacted with and was admired for his kind heart, wisdom, and experiences from a long, fruitful and Christian life. 

JD was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Carolyn Parks, in 2015 and both his parents, G.O. Parks and Nadine (Motts) Parks.

JD is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Geoffrey and Heather Parks; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Kimberlie Parks; his three grandsons, Tyler, Dylan and Dayton Parks; his sister, Joy Williams; and his dear friend and companion of 8 years, Nancy Gilbert.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeside Funeral Home located at 121 Claremore Drive in Woodstock, GA 30188 on Saturday October 18, 2025 at 1:00pm.  

The family will receive visitors and friends from 12:00pm until the time of the service on the same day.

A private burial will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at a later date.
