Our beloved father, grandfather, and great‑grandfather, Jimmy Lamar Teems, age 80, of Jasper, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2025. Born on January 20, 1945 in Alpharetta, Georgia, Jimmy lived a life full of love, hard work, and faith.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 47 years, Glenda Sue “Susie” (Tate) Teems, his parents John and Virginia Teems, his brother Egbert Teems, his son Jimmy Ray Teems, granddaughter Sabrina Payne, and great‑granddaughter Emily Buddin.
He leaves behind a legacy carried on by his children: Donald (Vicki Teems), Cindy (Jimmy Saylor), Tammy (Luke Turner), and Darrell Teems; brothers, Thomas (Mary Teems), Grady (Vicky Teems) along with 12 grandchildren and 33 great‑grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of his heart.
Jimmy spent 50 years as a dedicated truck driver, providing for his family with strength and perseverance. Outside of work, he found joy in camping and fishing, and his faith was central to his life. He loved going to church, singing, and playing the drums for gospel groups, sharing music that lifted spirits and brought people together.
A funeral service will be held on November 30, 2025 at 3:00p at Fresh Anointing Church, 331 Lumpkin County Parkway, Dahlonega, GA 30533. Pastor Keith Blackwell and Pastor Joe Frady will officiate.
