Mr. Jimmie C. Flatt, age 70 of Canton GA passed away October 26th, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family. A native of Detroit, MI Mr. Flatt had spent the last 30 years in Canton, GA. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Flatt retired from the Detroit Free Press as a systems analyst. He was a "Diehard" University of Michigan Wolverine fan and a member of Sutallee Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Clay Flatt and Willie Catherin Woodard.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah A. Flatt; sons Christopher and wife Ashley Kinney, Joshua and wife Silke Kinney; daughter Tracie and husband Jack Jackson; brother, Wayne and wife Jeannie Flatt; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted Friday, November 17th at 12 noon at Sutallee Baptist Church, 895 Knox Bridge Hwy, White Ga. 30184. Rev. Billy J. Edmondson will officiate. Burial will follow at Georgia National Cemetery with military graveside rites at 2PM. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 until 12 the day of the service.
