Jerry worked hard all of his life. As a young man he was a Lifeguard at the Clarkdale Mill Village pool, a licensed Barber and a Soldier. After 35 years, he retired as a Locomotive Engineer for Norfolk Southern Railway. He was a Godly man and a passionately opinionated and loving husband, father and friend. He took great care of everything he cared about, from his wife and children, to every car in the driveway, and every leaf that fell into his yard. He enjoyed old cars, good food and great friends. Most of all he loved Jesus, and now he is in His presence and peace forever more.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 12 noon until 2pm at Lakeside Funeral Home, 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA. 30188. Masks will be required to enter the building and social distancing will be followed. Please honor this request.
A private graveside service with military honors will be conducted Friday, December 18 at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114. Pastor’s Scott Smith and Scott Huskins will officiate. The National Cemetery has limited attendance to (10) ten family members.
