Jerry L. Dixon, age 74, of Waleska, Georgia passed away on May 11, 2025, at his residence.
Jerry was born November 3, 1950, in Baytown, Texas. After high school, he volunteered to join the US Army. He bravely served his country in the Vietnam War where he was awarded a Bronze Star and an Air Medal. Upon return to the States, he worked for Sappi Fine Paper Company in Mobile, Alabama for 33 years. On retirement, he lived in California and ultimately settled in Waleska. Jerry was a faithful follower of Christ and attended weekly services at Woodstock Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading western novels and playing with his beloved dog, Tony.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Dixon; six children, Marla (Tripp) O’Bryan, Wade Dixon, Kimberly Dixon, Dana (Michael) Molenda, Eric (Eleni) Elling, and Aaron Boylan; five grandchildren, Kaley (Gill) Myles, Amie (Bryce) Hudgens, Paisley Dixon, Alex Elling, and Andrew Elling; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Elsie Humphreys, father William Dixon, and his brother Dickey Dixon.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, at 1130am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation or American Heart Association.
