Douglas McArthur Lewis

Mr. Douglas McArthur Lewis, age 80, of Suwanee, GA passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023 at his residence with his family surrounding him. He was a man that was truly loved by his family and friends. He was born in Georgia, raised his family here, and worked hard. He loved laying brick and was extremely good at it.

He was preceded in death by his parents Aaron and Myrtle Samples Lewis; brothers, Thomas, Jake “J.W.” and Richard Lewis; sisters, Agnes Baxter and MayOctavia Lewis. 

He is survived by his children Eileen Mulligan, Connie and Eddie Roberts, Douglas Lewis and Patricia Hughes, Remon and Jackie Lewis; sister, Elizabeth Stapler “Cooter”; brother Ronald and Jo Ann Lewis; sister in law Peggy Lewis; former wife Farris Cater. Grandchildren, Christopher Standridge, Nicole Frady, Anthony McKenzie, Brandon McKenzie and Gina Keown.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:00a, Sawnee View Memorial Gardens, 1390 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 4:00p until 8:00p at Lakeside Funeral Home, 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA 30188.
