Dominique Mbomba Near

Dominique Mbomba Near, age 56, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away on December 5th, 2020, after a short battle with metastatic breast cancer. She leaves behind her son, Jonathan Near, and her daughters, Jennifer and Jessica Near.     

Dominique was born on January 26th, 1964, in Lausanne, Switzerland. She was the second child to parents Andre Mbomba and Jeannette Ekuasa. She grew up in a large, loving family in Kinshasa, Congo, with four sisters, one brother, and many cousins and extended family members.     

Dominique was a wonderfully strong, devoted, joyful mother of three and a friend to all she met. Her impact on her children can be clearly seen by all who know them. They were her greatest pride and joy. Every decision she made in life, she made for the benefit of her children. The immense sacrifice and perseverance she displayed is an inspiration to every parent. She was a longtime resident of Alpharetta, GA, and loved her city and community. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, and playing board games or watching movies with her children. 

Dominique is survived by Jonathan, son; Jennifer and Jessica, daughters; Jeannette Ekuasa, mother; Brigitte Mbomba, Nicole Mbomba, Adriene Mbomba, and Anne-Lise Mbomba, sisters; Allain Mbomba, brother; and many more family and friends. 

Dominique will join her father, Andre Mbomba, in heaven.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2020, at 9:30a EST at Lakeside Funeral Home Chapel, 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA 30188. The funeral service will follow at 10:00a EST, followed by a procession and burial at Macedonia Memorial Park, 10655 E Cherokee Drive, Canton, GA 30115. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the service and burial will be live-streamed to encourage social distancing. Pastor Bryan Woodson of Free Chapel will officiate the service.
