Diane Budkoski Obituary

On Monday, August 20th, 2018, Diane Elizabeth Budkoski, devoted wife and mother of four children, passed away at the age of 71. Diane was born on August 9, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia to George and Ellen Kingston.

She was the eldest daughter of three children and was very close with siblings Philip and Kathy. Diane graduated from Headland High School in 1965 where she was deeply involved in their cheerleading squad and then attended the University of Georgia where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1969. At the University of Georgia, Diane was a member of Tri Delta and also met the father of her children, Robert Pritchard. Diane’s passion was raising her four children, with whom she lovingly stayed home. She then began her career as part of the front office administration staff at The Walker School in Marietta, Georgia where she loved interacting with families and making a difference for students. She was an avid reader, dancer, and passed on her love of sewing to her two daughters. In 1993, she met her late husband Chester (Chet) Budkoski. She and Chet enjoyed not taking life too seriously and went snow skiing every chance they got, but their biggest joy was teaching Sunday school to preschool aged children at Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, Georgia. Diane had a vast friend network due to her sweet and caring nature and was loved by all who met her.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ellen Kingston, and by her husband, Chet Budkoski. She is survived by her children, Beth (Rob) Bush, Adam (Rebecka) Pritchard, Nathan Pritchard, and Melanie (Kyle) Wegner, step-children Amanda (David) Bauder and Chad Budkoski, grandchildren Skyla and Ashton Bush, Zachary and Samuel Cordover Pritchard, Audrey Pritchard, and Wesley and Maxen Wegner, step-grandchildren Noah, Stella, and Lance Budkoski, brother Philip (Nancy) Kingston, and sister Kathy (Paul) Benoit.
