Dennis Wayne Zimmerman, 70, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Born on March 2, 1954, in Covington, Kentucky and raised in Erlanger, he was the son of the late Marvin Zimmerman and the late Mary Lucille Zimmerman.
Dennis grew up in Erlanger, Kentucky. He graduated from Lloyd High School in 1972. He continued his education at the University of Kentucky and graduated in 1976. He met Linda while working at a hotel. Dennis started his civil service career and moved to Nashville with Linda where they started their family. Dennis moved to Roswell, GA around the late 1980s. where he raised his family. He spent his weekends enjoying time with his family and watching college sports. After 37 years of civil service, Dennis retired to spend more time living life. He made every second count doing something fun and was young at heart. He always enjoyed getting outside and walking around five miles a day. Dennis had a larger than life personality and always lived in the moment. He was an avid and lifelong Kentucky Wildcats fanatic. If he was not spending time with family or friends, you would find Dennis out enjoying live entertainment. Dennis will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his brother Glenn Zimmerman and his wife Linda Lee Zimmerman. He is survived by his brother, Curtis Zimmerman; and his five sisters Pam Marshall, Kim Zimmerman, Beverly Bleadon, Cynthia Luetkemeier, and Jennifer Zimmerman.
He is survived by his five children; Angela Marie Barton, Adam Glenn Zimmerman, Daniel Wayne Zimmerman, Brian Dennis Zimmerman, and Chistopher Ward Zimmerman as well as nine grandchildren; Avery Lee Zimmerman, Adalyn Rose Zimmerman, Clinton Wyatt Barton, McKinley Brooke Zimmerman, Harper Lee Barton, Hudson Adam Zimmerman, Cooper Ward Zimmerman, Bennett Grey Zimmerman, and Nolan Ford Zimmerman.
The family will receive friends and family for a visitation at 12:00 PM Sunday, March 16th at Lakeside Funeral Home, 121 Claremore Dr, Woodstock, GA 30188. The family will meet privately at a later date for a celebration of life.
