Dale Jefferson Conrad went home to be with the Lord on July 13th, 2025, just shy of his 69th birthday. He faced a 12-year battle with cancer with unwavering strength, faith, and determination.
Our beloved son, brother, father, and brother-in-law is at peace, freed from the pain and frustrations of a body that no longer kept pace with his mind and heart. Dale now rests in the loving arms of his Savior and Friend, the Lord Jesus. Though no longer with us in body, his spirit, humor, and deep love for family live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
We will remember Dale for the full life he lived - a life marked by passion and curiosity. His talents were many - a boyhood champion in bicycle balancing competitions, a skilled English saddle rider and jumper, an unapologetic car collector, and a mechanical savant. His hands were rarely still - whether tending farmland and pasture in Pennsylvania or working the land surrounding his home in Georgia.
Dale’s legacy includes a long list of colorful titles: farm manager, professional herdsman, Popeye’s fry cook, downhill skier (no snowboards, thank you very much!), Sunfish skipper, amateur log-splitter, professional firewood producer, ladies industrial league softball coach, an adequate trombone player (but could play the piano by ear), and an encyclopedia of 60’s and 70’s music trivia. He was uniquely Dale.
He was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia to Joan and Thomas Conrad. Upon graduating from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, he began a career in the field of accounting. Armed with his extensive accounting experience, in 1986 he purchased the rights to the Charleston, South Carolina Safeguard Business Systems where he provided the region’s businesses with accounting software and materials.
In 2000, after several years of building a successful book of business, Dale sold his franchise rights and joined his brother in Atlanta to take on the CFO role for a Technology/Telecommunications private fund partnership with Deutsche Bank. He continued in various private fund accounting roles up until the time of his death.
But Dale's proudest role was that of father. He leaves behind three beloved children - Max, Anneliese, and Elliott - who carry forward his love, wit, and unshakable sense of self. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Joan Conrad, and four siblings who will cherish his memory forever.
A funeral service will be Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00a. Lakeside Funeral Home Chapel, 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA 30188. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00a until 11:00a. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076.
