Clara Gwyn Kramer, age 87 of Charlotte received her wings on November 17th while under the wonderful care of the Aldersgate Asbury Health and Rehabilitation Center of Charlotte surrounded by family and lifelong friends.
Clara was born May 8, 1932 in Elk Park, Avery County, NC to loving parents Baxter and Ivey Lee Gwyn Sr., and moved to Charlotte in 1973 with her beloved husband Ronald.
As the former NC Director of the Cinderella Scholarship Pageant, Clara influenced the lives of young women throughout the state for over 30 years. A woman of many talents, too numerous to list, Clara loved her family and enjoyed a life full of travel.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Ronald G. Kramer; her brother Baxter V. Gwyn Jr. (Sonny) of Indian Trail, NC; sons Jerry Kramer of Lisbon, OH, Thomas Togie Gwyn (Jenny) of Indian Trail, NC, and Steve Power (Terry Brookes) of Pensacola, FL; her daughter Cindy Kramer Hannah of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren Tiffany and Kerri Kramer, Shannon Ball Wood (Justin), Justin Ball (Allison), Megan and Emma Gwyn; and 4 great grandchildren.
A Breast Cancer Survivor, Clara was a strong woman with an even stronger personality and never faced a challenge she could not tackle.
The family will receive friends Friday, November, 22 from 6p to 8p at McLean Funeral Directors, 515 N. Central Ave. Belmont, NC. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, November, 23 at 11:30a in McLean Chapel Belmont. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, S. Main St.,Belmont, NC 28012.
