Carey Lee Knight Jr.

Mr. Carey Lee Knight Jr., age 53, of Auburn, GA passed away on August 20, 2021. Carey was born on March 26, 1968 in Atlanta, GA. He was a loving, strong-minded, and protective fiancé, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. His family was the most important thing to him. He was a happy man that was always willing to help others.

Carey was preceded in death by his father, Carey Lee Knight Sr., mother, Ruby Jackson Knight Maynard, and brother, Ricky Knight.

He is survived by his fiancé of 13 years, Dawn Gerstenlauer, two brothers, Randy Knight (Rita) and Mark Knight, as well as four sisters, Wanda Wood (Alan), Vickie Mauldin (Jerrell King), Lisa Murray (Terry), and Patricia McGuire (Nick). He is also survived by a son, Nick Knight (Leann Nash), daughter, Michelle Frady, two step-sons, Jacob Hudgins (Alicia) and Devon Gerstenlauer, and a stepdaughter, Jocelyn Gerstenlauer. He leaves behind eleven grandchildren: Wesley, Madison, Breann, Christian, Matthew, Erica, Angela Faith, Walter, Ellie Renee, Nyla, and Harley as well as fourteen nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 27th at 12 noon. Lakeside Funeral Home Chapel, 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA 30188. Rev. Paul Milligan will officiate. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Alpharetta, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 26th from 10a until 5p & Friday from 10a until the hour of the service.
