Bobby Ray Hodges age 78, of Banner Elk, North Carolina, went home to be with our Lord & Savior on August 3, 2023 in Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 23, 1945 in Banner Elk to the late Clinard and Daisy Yarber Hodges.
Bobby served in the US Army, 1451st Transportation Company and The National Guard after high school. He was employed by Elk River Golf & Country Club, was on the board of Mountain Electric Pocket Change, The treasurer of Cranberrian Corporation & had many other hobbies and interests. Bobby’s greatest passion was to be in Church serving the Lord, playing his guitar & teaching the younger generation. He was the most kind, loving man who never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents he was proceeded in Death by his brothers, Marshall Hodges, Ronald Hodges, Jim Hodges, Lynn Hodges & Bill Hodges. Sisters, Catherine Shook, Pansy Hodges, Edna Arnett, Lola Rupard & Dople Rupard.
Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memories, Wife of 32 years, Barbara Hodges, his children, Tami (Mark) Eggers of Banner Elk, Sammy (BJ) Hodges of Banner Elk, Jacqui (Allen) Arnett of Banner Elk, Ryan Hodges of the home, Misti (Bill) Wiley of Banner Elk and Shannon Triplett of Banner Elk, 17 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews & friends.
Services for Bobby Hodges will be held on Monday August 7, 2023 at God’s House of Worship in Banner Elk, NC with Rev. Brent Price officiating. Family will receive friends from 12pm-2pm with Funeral & Graveside to follow.
