Barbara Lane Miller

Barbara Lane Miller, 80, of the Glen Ayre community in Mitchell County, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Greenville, TX on November 30, 1937, to the late Archie Lynn Miller and Grace Delilah Lane. She graduated from Leonard High School in 1955 and earned a degree in Horticulture from Tri County Community College in Athens, TX.

Ms. Miller was an avid gardener & landscaper and enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard. Her other hobbies include writing and reading. She will be remembered for her grace and kindness.

She is survived by her sons, Phil (Angie) White and Chris White of Bakersville, NC; two grandchildren, Joshua (Pam) White of Bakersville, NC and Anna (Charles) Robbins of Pontotoc, MS; seven great-grandchildren, Claire & Jake White of Bakersville, NC and Charles, Anthony, Richard, Chevy & Ragan Robbins of Pontotoc, MS; one brother, James Miller of Cary, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Archie and David Miller.

A memorial service will be held July 7, 2018 at Spruce Pine United Methodist Church, 11090 NC-226, Spruce Pine, NC at 2:30 pm officiated by Rev. Jeremy Troxler. Family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30p at the church with a reception immediately following the service.
