Due to cardiac arrest in conjunction with Parkinson's Disease, Dr. Ashis Gupta of Johns Creek, GA passed away October 29, 2025 at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce Gupta and children, David Gupta and Pamela Beeson.
During his tenure as Director of Special Projects for The Coca-Cola Company, Dr. Gupta designed the famous Coca-Cola space can. He also held patents for dozens of other inventions. Born in Calcutta, India, Ashis came to the United States to attend graduate school at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where he broke all records to receive his PhD in chemical engineering in nine quarters.
Ashis enjoyed music, football, and books. His Christian faith and love for the Lord provided direction and held priority in his life. Ashis served as Deacon, Sunday school teacher, prayer counselor, and in countless other roles at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, GA from 1979-1994. He was a founding member of First Redeemer Church in Cumming, GA. Ashis was always ready to share his faith and serve His Heavenly Father.
A memorial service for Ashis will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 2 PM, First Redeemer Church, 2100 Peachtree Pkwy, Cumming, GA 30041.
