It is with great sadness that the family of Albert John Scheidl, Jr. announces his peaceful passing, on Friday, March 20, 2020, at the age of 88 years.

Al was born to Matilda E. Karl Scheidl and Albert John Scheidl, Sr. on February 8, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Commissioned Officer from September 1954 to September 1957 and was stationed at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas. He earned his B.S. degree while serving.

After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Al went to work for Tenneco Oil in Houston, Texas and was eventually relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. After retiring from Tenneco Oil, he worked as an accountant for Cleveland Electric. After leaving Cleveland Electric, he worked for the Gwinnett County school system driving a school bus. He had some very fond memories of the children and truly enjoyed his time with them.

He enjoyed going to the neighborhood swimming pool, taking his kids at Christmas time to look at the lights and to look for Santa, hiding eggs at Easter and acting like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. He and his wife loved to travel, to include countless cruises and traveling extensively throughout Europe. He would eventually retire and take up sitting on the back porch of his home in Peachtree Corners drinking coffee and working crossword puzzles. He was also an avid reader.

He will be dearly missed by all. Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Phabrice, and his children, Suzanne (Richard), A.J., Theresa (Jim) and Janet. Al will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Gregory, Jennifer (Ryan), Brock (Nicole), Hannah (Chris), and Halleigh. As well as his four great-grandchildren Cash, Marley, Marshall and Piper.

Graveside services with military honors at Georgia National Cemetery are incomplete and will be announced.
