Albert P. Becker

Mr. Albert P. Becker Jr., age 79 of Lawrenceville, GA passed away December 28, 2016 after a long illness. Born in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Becker was a graduate of Langley High School and was employed by J & L Steel (LTV) from 1956 until 2000. He married Carole Jean McClenathan July 15, 1960.

Al played Semi-Pro football from 1956 until 1959 and had received a personal letter from Coach Paul (Bear) Bryant to travel to Alabama to try out for the team. He also was employed at the Meadows Race Track in Washington County PA. for more than 25 years.

His passion was football and he gave back to his community by coaching hundreds of young men during his lifetime. He coached the Dormont Boosters Little League Football Club and Chartiers-Houston Youth Football.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carole, parents Albert and Teresa Sieboldt Becker and brother, Jimmy Becker.

Mr. Becker is survived by his children Dayna Becker (Bill Turner) of Huntington Beach, CA., Pamela (Mike) Hazlett of Washington, PA., and Kimberly (Ronnie) Lane of Lawrenceville, GA. Sister, Shirley Maiola, Butler, PA., and Brothers: William Becker, Eugene Becker, and Bobby Becker. Grandchildren: Sarah Hazlett, Pittsburgh PA., Michael Hazlett, Fresno CA., Nichole Lane, Lawrenceville GA., and Kathrine Lane of Lawrenceville, GA., and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 2, 2017 from 2p to 3:30p at the Life Care Center of Lawrenceville. 210 Collins Industrial Way, Lawrenceville, Ga. 30043. Phone 678.442.0777.
