Thank you, Garey, for giving me the greatest gift in my life, our son. Please know that your little Rookie will have a loving home with us. Dave, you took such good care of your dad seeing to his every need and making sure he knew his grandson. I know it was very difficult at times for all of you and I am so, so proud of you and Tammy. I pray Garey is at peace at last.

David, I knew your dad (and you) back in the 1970s in Asheville. He and I spent many, many, many days traveling around Buncombe County selling insurance and partaking of lots of bourbon.

Your dad was the best man at my and my wife's wedding on New Years Eve 1975 at the Buncombe County Courthouse's drunk court. The judge stopped the arraignments that were going on to marry us.

I often think of many great time he and I had and I will cherish his friendship forever.
